Best Answer: The front audio panel will be connected to the motherboard by a peripheral lead. Open the case and trace the front header - sometimes it will be labelled AC'97 or HD Audio and disconnect it from the motherboard.

When you plug in speakers to the green audio port on the back of your computer, sound can be heard from the speakers.
